Jarred Blake Wolfe - Died October 5, 2007 - 19 years old
Jarred early in 2007
Jarred Wolfe was 19 years old when he died in Santa Rosa County, Florida on October 5, 2007.
At 11 am, the already deceased young man was brought to the hospital by a 26-year-old woman
he had partied with the previous night. The woman told hospital staff and later the police that she
and Jarred had spent the night in his truck parked in a secluded spot on the farm owned by
Jarred’s parents. She said they had fallen asleep and when she awoke in the morning Jarred was
unresponsive. Confused, rather than calling 9-1-1 on an available cell phone (there were two in
the truck,) she drove past Jarred’s house and on to the home of his 29-year-old cousin, who had
been partying with them the previous evening. Unable to get anyone to answer the door, she
finally drove Jarred to the hospital, which was about six miles away from where she claimed to
have spent the night.  The stories the cousin and the young woman tell are not consistent and
make no sense.  Jarred’s family has found evidence that the woman’s story not only lacks
credibility, much of it is a lie. Jarred's own cell phone offers some clues.  The young woman called
Jarred's phone a couple of times in the middle of the night, when she supposedly was with
Jarred...does this make sense?  The cousin says Jarred and the young woman dropped him off at
his house at 10:30pm, yet all three of them were seen by friends at 1:40am, so that story doesn't
hold water.  The cousin called Jarred's mother's house around 8am to ask if Jarred was there.
His mother says this cousin NEVER calls the house, as there has been trouble with him before,
and they just don't talk.  Of course she told him Jarred was not there.

Toxicology reports showed drugs in his system.  His death was ruled an accident caused by
multiple drug intoxication (methadone and ethanol.)  The combination may have caused a
medical reaction, but would there have been time to save his life if the cousin and young woman
had acted quickly, and prudently, and taken Jarred to the hospital?  Why didn't they call 911?
Why didn't they stop by any of the houses around and ask for help?  Was it because they were
afraid they might be arrested for providing alcohol and drugs to someone under 21, and since
both the cousin and the young woman were on probation, they allowed Jarred to die instead?  A
thorough investigation was never performed by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Department.
The family has tried for almost three years to get answers and the sheriff's department has blown
them off, saying they conducted a short investigation as a "courtesy" for a grieving mother.  This
case is so similar to the
Joshua Whittier case, and in the same jurisdiction.  It really makes one
wonder if the deaths of all young men in Santa Rosa County, Florida go without investigation,
leaving families to wonder what actually happened to their loved ones.

Judy Wolfe, Jarred’s mother, says her efforts to get the authorities to aggressively investigate
have been unsuccessful. Please use the contacts on the left to voice your concern over this
case, and ask for a proper investigation.
